Overview of Santorini Island      Disregarding the threat of the volcano, Santorini proudly spreads her beauty over the wild rock and the last remaining piece of the lost world of Atlantis.
The island of Santorini was created eighty thousand years ago when the first volcanic eruption created Stroggili. The island was first inhabited in 2000BC
Athenios Port

Carved into the rock, Athenios Port is the first place to welcome the hordes of tourists, before they set off up the steep road towards the capital of the Santorini island, cosmopolitan Fira. Houses built in the style of the Cycladic islands, luxurious hotels, bars and restaurants are crowded together right up to the edge of the cliff, offering a wonderful view of the volcano.
Streets of Fira

However, if the hordes of tourists armed with cameras ready to immortalize the sun’s ‘dive’, bother you, you have a second equally good opportunity to enjoy the sunset without the crowds. Acrotiri, on the southernmost point of the Santorini island, although less advertised, for many is the best place to watch the sun disappear into the waters of the Aegean, with only the island'slighthouse for company.

The donkeys had always been loyal to humans, offering great help to several daily activities, especially before the invention of modern means of transportation. You'll first meet the donkeys on your arrival to the island's port, Athinios. Instead of taking the cable car to the capital of Fira...
